question about future plans quadrilateral mesh generation

In future plans you mention quadrilateral elements.
Is your idea: generate a delaunay triangulated mesh. union two most suitable triangles that share an edge to a quadrilateral? Or did you think of a different approach?

When I wrote the future plans section I had your approach in mind, but as it seems, producing high quality quadrilateral meshes is not as trivial. I think the right way to go would be something like in the following two papers:
